- Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Sharon Keller:
“We close at 5.”
While refusing a last-minute appeal by a condemned appellant.

“It’s a dog, it’s OK. You can get another one.”
Response to a distraught driver who was stopped for speeding while attempting to get his dog to a veterinary emergency center.

- Smith County Assistant District Attorney Jodi Brown:
“It was a king size.”
On Kenneth Paynes 16 year sentence for stealing a “snickers” candy bar in Smith county.
